Bus passes

11, 265 and 374 bus services

Due to strict limits on council spending, a decision was made by Cabinet in March 2023 to end our funding subsidy for the 11, 265 and 374 bus services. This decision will now be reviewed, with the review proposed to take place in June 2023. Until the review is completed and a final decision made, the 11, 265 and 274 services will continue as normal.

Single bus fares capped at £2

Until the end of June 2023 you can get any single bus ticket for a maximum fare of £2 on all bus routes in Thurrock, except those operated by Transport for London.

Bus passes and freedom passes

If you live in London and meet the age criteria, or have an eligible disability, you may be able to get a Freedom Pass. With a Freedom Pass, you can travel free on most public transport services in London, including National Rail, although time restrictions apply

Thurrock bus pass holders are not entitled to the same benefits as a Freedom Pass holder.

Freedom Pass benefits are paid for by London authorities, and only London freedom pass holders can get additional local travel on the tube, trains and trams.

You can still use your Thurrock bus pass to enjoy free off-peak bus travel when visiting London.
