Support is available for businesses during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
Assistance with business rates
Our business rate bills for 2020/21 were posted before these announcements, but we will send new bills as soon as possible. In the meantime, we have suspended business rates payments in April 2020 for all businesses. This means:
no payment will be taken from any business in April, allowing time for reliefs or grants to be applied and bills to be reissued
businesses that don't benefit from government support, or with residual amounts to pay, will get new bills that spread their due amounts over 11 months from May 2020 to March 2021
Coronavirus (COVID-19) grants for businesses
The following government grant schemes have now ended:
- Small Business Grants Fund (SBGF)
- Retail and Hospitality Grant Scheme
These schemes opened in April 2020 and closed on 28 August 2020.
We are no longer able to accept new requests for grants from these schemes. Any outstanding requests received before the closing date will be finalised by 30 September 2020.
