Council Employee Data

Request: 

Please provide the following information with the following criteria:

  1. Data should be compiled up to 15th Sept 2022 or the nearest whole month (either end of October 2022 or beginning of Sept 2022). Please state the date used in your results.
  2. Data should encompass the entire Councils workforce to include temps, contractors, part time and full-time employees.
  3. Data should only contain Thurrock Employees who hold or have held positions equal to Manager/Section Heads/Department Heads up to the Chief Executive Officer Lyn Carpenter at the time of the report date.
  4. The resultant set should show the data as:
    1. No of employees who meet the above criteria (1 to 3) that live within the Thurrock Council boundaries.
    2. No of Employees who meet the above criteria (1 to 3) that live outside the Thurrock Council boundaries.
    3. Same again as (a) and (b), but the employees need to be grouped by their civil servants pay grade structure. 
    4. A pay grade "key" should be provided explaining the different grades with Thurrock Council. Each grade should show min and max pay allowable for each grade.
    5. The resultant data set should be provided in excel spreadsheet format.

We have 16 temps in a Managerial role, we are unable to report whether they live within or outside the Thurrock Council boundaries as we do not hold this information.
  3. Data should only contain Thurrock Employees who hold or have held positions equal to Manager/Section Heads/Department Heads up to the Chief Executive Officer Lyn Carpenter at the time of the report date.
  4. The resultant set should show the data as:
    1. No of employees who meet the above criteria (1 to 3) that live within the Thurrock Council boundaries. As Above
    2. No of Employees who meet the above criteria (1 to 3) that live outside the Thurrock Council boundaries. As Above
    3. Same again as (a) and (b) , but the employees need to be grouped by their civil servants pay grade structure.

We are unable to provide an exact number for question 4c above as:

  • There is a low number involved.
  • The release of this information could identify individuals which would constitute their personal data under the Data Protection Act
  • There is no prior expectation on the part of these individuals that their personal information would be published in the wider public domain under the FOI Act
  • Personal data of any other person is exempt under section 40 (2) of the Data Protection Act.

However in the interests of transparency we are able to provide this information to you categorised as fewer than 5 to give you an indication of the figures
