Request: 

1) Please provide the total number of PP57 documents received in 2022 by Children's Social Care from Essex Police and the outcome recorded by Children's Social Care for the PP57s received.

2) Please provide your policy (or similarly named or of sorts) that is available to social work staff relating to assessing and responding to PP57 documents.

1904 MASH contacts with a Referral Source Type of ‘Police’ received in 2022 (please note, the date parameters used are: 01/01/2022 – 31/12/2022).

22 had an outcome of ‘MASH Episode’

1034 had an outcome of ‘No Further Action/Information and Advice’

Fewer than 5 had an outcome of ‘Other Outcome’

133 had an outcome of ‘Progress to Active Intervention Episode’

714 had an outcome of ‘Transfer to Children’s Social Care’

2) Please provide your policy (or similarly named or of sorts) that is available to social work staff relating to assessing and responding to PP57 documents.

Social Work staff making threshold decisions in relation to contacts would use the Thurrock LSCP Pathway to Service and Threshold Intervention Document as guidance – this can be found on the Thurrock LSCP website:
