Taxi licensing
As the Council is the regulator for taxi (i.e. Hackney Carriage) licensing - both with regard to the licensing of Hackney Carriage vehicles and the licensing of individuals to work as taxi (Hackney Carriage) drivers - and as
the body which sets taxi fares for the local area, I would be grateful if you could please confirm the following;
Are taxi fares set by the Council inclusive of VAT and if so does the Council possess any documentary evidence proving that its fares have been calculated to be inclusive of VAT?
A breakdown of the total amount of Hackney Carriage vehicles licensed by the Council on a per calendar year basis from 2012 to 2022
A breakdown of the total amount of licensed Hackney Carriage taxi drivers per calendar year from 2012 to 2022
We don’t include VAT in any of the fares. Figures are as follows:
