Huge step forward for Purfleet-on-Thames regeneration

Transformational plans to regenerate Purfleet-on-Thames have taken another substantial step forward as Thurrock Council complete on phase 1a legal documents to kick-start works. 
Purfleet Centre Regeneration Limited (PCRL), in partnership with Thurrock Council, is delivering a £1billion regeneration project that will transform Purfleet-on-Thames into a desirable riverside destination.

£75million for Purfleet-on-Thames regeneration

Plans to regenerate Purfleet-on-Thames have taken another massive step forward after the Chancellor announced £75m Housing Infrastructure Funding for the development as part of his budget this week.
The Housing Infrastructure Fund provides £2.3billion of government grants to help regeneration in key areas across the country.
Thurrock Council submitted the bid in 2018 working with their development partner Purfleet Centre Regeneration Ltd (PCRL). Together they plan to create a vibrant new Thames-side community in Purfleet-on-Thames, including:

New name for Thurrock town

Proposals to formally rename Purfleet as Purfleet-on-Thames have been approved.
Thurrock Council unanimously agreed to re-name the town at Full Council on Wednesday 29 January 2020 following a public consultation.
The name change follows a petition being presented to Full Council in January 2019, that included 611 signatures from Purfleet residents organised by Purfleet-on-Thames Community Forum.
