Thurrock Council continues to invest in council homes as a planning application to build 4 new properties in Chadwell St Mary is given the green light.
The plans to build the homes on Loewen Road were approved by Planning Committee on Thursday 2 December. The new 3-bedroom properties will replace a single house to offer 4 Thurrock households modern and sustainable family homes in the council's continued effort to help meet the affordable housing needs of the borough.

Final properties handed over at Claudian Way

Twenty-two Thurrock households have been given the keys to high-quality, affordable council homes in the final handover phase of Thurrock Council's Claudian Way development.
The keys to the remaining council homes at Chadwell St Mary were handed over to Thurrock residents this month, as part of the council's £32million investment in new council homes for affordable rent for people on the borough's housing register.

Thurrock Council's Cabinet member for housing, Cllr Barry Johnson, has announced that Derry Avenue and the Humber Avenue/Garron Lane sites will no longer be considered as possible locations for development following resident feedback.
Cllr Johnson said: "I can confirm that Thurrock Council will no longer explore the possibility of developing housing on Derry Avenue and the Humber Avenue/Garron Lane sites.
