Town and Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (England) Order 2015 (as amended)

Notice under Article 38 of Proposals for a Local Development Order granting Planning Permission

London Gateway Logistics Park, The Manorway, Stanford-le-Hope, Essex

Notice is given that Thurrock Council proposes to make the London Gateway Logistics Park Local Development Order 1.5 (2024).

In November 2013 the Council adopted the London Gateway Logistics Park Local Development Order (2013) which permitted up to 829,700 square metres of commercial floorspace. It expired in early November 2023 with 337,225 square metres of floorspace having been completed or consented on site.

Thurrock Council is now consulting on draft Local Development Order 1.5 (LDO1.5) for the development of up to 85,000 square metres of additional B8 floorspace on the London Gateway Logistics Park.

LDO1.5 is proposed as an interim measure pending the preparation of a further Local Development Order (LDO) to enable the development of the remaining plots on the Logistics Park. It would be valid for one year unless a replacement LDO is made by Thurrock Council prior to that date.

Copies of the draft Local Development Order, Statement of Reasons, the Heads of Terms of a Section 106 Agreement and other supporting documents are available for inspection electronically at the Civic Offices, New Road, Grays, RM17 6SL or alternatively, at your local library –

The documents may also be viewed at the Council Offices, Civic Offices, New Road, Grays, RM17 6SL from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9:30am and 4:30pm, and online at

Any representations on the draft Order should be made in writing to the Major Projects Team at the address below or by email – stating 'Representation on re-consultation of the draft Local Development Order' in the subject line – to no later than Monday 8 January 2024.
