Local Government Act 1972 Section 122 / Housing and Planning Act 2016 Section 203
Proposed appropriation of land at the former Culver Centre and land to rear Daiglen Drive, South Ockendon for planning purposes
Notice is hereby given by Thurrock Council ("the Council"):
1. that the land at the former Culver Centre and Land to Rear Daiglen Drive South Ockendon Essex (the "Site") is required for development relating to consented permission reference 20/01777/FUL
2. part of the Site (shown edged green on the Plan and having an area of 24,213 square metres) forms open space and in accordance with Section 122(2A) of the Local Government Act 1972 notice is herby given that the Council intends to appropriate that land from open space purposes to planning purposes
3. all that part of the Site not forming open space (having an area of 19,720 square metres) is held for education purposes and notice is hereby given that the Council intends to appropriate that land from education purposes to planning purposes
4. in the event that the Site is appropriated for planning purposes section 203 of the Housing and Planning Act 2016 would enable the Council to override rights interests and contractual restrictions over the Site in accordance with that section 203

Any objections to the intended appropriation must be made in writing to the Head of Legal Services, Thurrock Council, Civic Offices, New Road, Grays, RM17 6SL or by email to propertyfm@thurrock.gov.uk no later than the close of business on 30 June 2022.
