Public notice

1) Notice is hereby given that Thurrock Borough Council, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1-4, 45, 46, 49, 51, 53 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the 1984 Act") and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, intends to make the above named Order ("the Proposed Order").

2) The general effect of the Order would be to:

a) introduce shared use Permit SO holders only Mon-Fri 10am-3pm and Payment Parking Mon-Fri 10am-3pm restrictions, the current charges applicable being set out in Schedule 1, on Tamarisk Road at the locations specified below:
i. from a point 2.7 metres south of the northern property boundary of 32 Tamarisk Road southwards for 23.8 metres
ii. from a point 7 metres north of the northern property boundary of 68 Tamarisk Road northwards for 55.7 metres
iii. from a point 14.5 metres south of the southern property boundary of 100 Tamarisk Road northwards for 104.5 metres
iv. from a point 1.5 metres north of the southern property boundary of 50 Tamarisk Road northwards for 132 metres

b) introduce Payment Parking 8am-6pm restrictions, the current charges applicable being set out in Schedule 2, within the on-street Tamarisk Road Car Park with the entrance off Orchard Road at a point 10.5 metres south of its junction with Tamarisk Road

c) introduce No waiting at any time restrictions within the on-street Tamarisk Road Car Park with the entrance off Orchard Road at a point 10.5 metres south of its junction with Tamarisk Road

d) introduce No waiting at any time restrictions on Orchard Road, west side, from the entrance to the on-street Tamarisk Road Car Park in a south direction to a point opposite the northern property boundary of 1 Orchard Road

3) A copy of the Proposed Order together with the plans can be obtained from the Transport Development team by contacting us on 01375 652 652 during normal office hours or alternatively via Thurrock Council’s website at thurrock.gov.uk/publicnotices

4) Any objection to the proposed order must be made in writing, giving the grounds on which, it is made and sent to the following address Parking Team, Civic Offices, New Road, Grays, RM17 6SL or sent via email to troconsultations@thurrock.gov.uk to arrive on or before 1 October 2022. Any objection may be communicated to other persons who may be affected.

Schedule 1 – Permit charges for Permit Zone SO

Charges (per eligible household):

• first resident permit – free for 12 months
• second additional resident permit – free for 12 month
• third additional resident permit – £75 for 12 months
• temporary resident permit – £11 for 12 months
• visitor permits – 35p each for 5 hour duration, 100 visitor parking permits per eligible household per month
• health/carer permits – free for 12 months
• NHS permits – £120 for 12 months
• business permits – £42 for 1 month, £210 for 6 months, £380 for 12 months
• contractor parking permit – £165 for 12 months
• operational permit – £120 for 12 months

Payment parking charges:

• up to 1 hour – £1.00
• up to 2 hours – £1.50
• up to 4 hours – £2.50
• over 4 hours – £4.00

• up to 1 hour – £1.00
• up to 2 hours – £1.50
• up to 4 hours – £2.50
• up to 6 hours – £4.00
• over 6 hours – £6.50
