Hackney carriage fares
The taxi tariff or fare is the maximum amount that a hackney carriage (taxi) can charge for a journey within Thurrock.
A driver can choose to charge less than the metered fare but cannot charge over it. If travelling outside of Thurrock, another amount may be agreed with the driver and passenger. This must be agreed before the journey starts.

The tariffs below apply from 26 August 2022.
Rate 1, Tariff 1 – for all hiring by up to 4 people except those on the days and times covered by rates 2 and 3.

Additionally:
- dogs are carried at the driver's discretion, except assistance dogs
- there is no extra charge for assistance dogs
- all fares and charges are inclusive of VAT
- a charge can be made if a passenger soils a vehicle
